I want everyone to keep a few things in mind. In this world right now, we are at war against terror. We will always be in this war because terror is not just terrorists blowing things up, they are anyone trying to take away our personal freedoms and our way of life as we know them. Our society doesn’t understand the full impact of what these people can do but you need to stay aware of your surroundings at all times. If you notice anything out of the ordinary, call your local law enforcement agency and have the problem looked into.

It isn’t just the criminal element you need to watch out for but anything in your immediate area that doesn’t seem right.

In the area of preparedness, have a list of all your utility companies and emergency services near your phone.
Today’s world is a lot more dangerous than it was when I was in school. Be and stay prepared for anything and everything that could happen in our area. Just because we live rural America, doesn’t mean we don’t have to worry.

Make sure you are prepared at home in the event you can’t get out for a week or so. Make sure you have plenty of food and water for you and your family. Go to our Being Prepared section on this website and read up on what you need to do.

Until next time, take care and stay alert
